This time I would like to share our experience at Six Flags Great Adventure amusement park in New Jersey. After spending a night in a hotel we arrived at the park before its opening. Favorite Looney Tunes pals and Justice League Super Heroes characters greeted the guests in the park and were available for picture taking with them throughout the day.
This cute flower Bugs Bunny made us smile on the way from the parking lot to the park’s entrance.
We already bought the admission tickets to the park online and after 20 minutes in line we were ready for the thrilling adventure. We started from the closest rides to the entrance: Batman and Nitro. We had to enter Gotham City in order to approach the rides. Here is Batman’s car across the street from Gotham City.
Batman is an inverted roller coaster which lets the riders soar over Gotham City with the track and sky above, and nothing but air below their dangling feet. This suspended outside-looping roller coaster includes five head-over-heels experiences and a zero-gravity roll.
Nitro is one of the most explosive coasters in the park! The riders soar nearly 23 stories in the air and dive nearly 22 stories down at speeds approaching 80 mph. Nitro recently won the 2011 Golden Ticket award for #3 Steel Coaster.
Skyride is one of the few remaining dual gondola lifts in the world. The Skyride carries passengers on a 1/3 mile, four minute trip from the Fantasy Forest section of the park to the Frontier Adventures section, or vice-versa. The Skyride is one of only three rides in the park (along with the Carousel and Big Wheel) that allows cameras to be taken on the ride. We enjoyed an awesome view of the park from the Skyride.
Saw Mill Log Flume ride below drops the riders 4 stories down into refreshing, free-flowing water. The view from the the SkyRide.

Kingda Ka is the tallest coaster in the World and the fastest in North America. We experienced the thrill of shooting 45 stories high at 128 mph on the world-record-breaking Kingda Ka ride.
Kingda Ka – getting ready for the ride.
The El Toro ride grabs adventure by the horns and tackles the monster El Toro, featuring the steepest drop of any wooden coaster in the country. El Toro was recently voted the #1 Wooden Coaster by Amusement Today.
Bizarro is a surreal coaster transformation. Medusa becomes Bizarro, the peculiar creature from Htrae where inhabitants believe in doing the opposite of Earthly things. We experienced fog and fiery flame effects timed perfectly during the ride.
The Parachute Training Center gives the riders a breathtaking view of the naturally wooded park from a 25-story-high parachute drop.
Superman is a new ride in the park which offers the experience of a thrilling head-first ride through a twisted steel track to find out what it’s really like to fly like Superman. Because of the weather we didn’t get to ride this one. 🙁
Green Lantern is a new stand-up coaster that delivers a smooth, white-knuckled adventure – but this time standing up while upside down! Unfortunately, because of the rain we weren’t able to experience this ride either. 🙁 🙁
Slingshot was the most exciting ride in the park for us. This ride required an additional fee, but it was worth it. They strapped us in and we were catapulted straight into the sky.
There were some cool twists while bouncing in the air.
Safari Off Road Adventure is supposed to take the visitors on an intense, up-close animal experience through ponds, hills, bridges and over rugged terrain. It’s all included with the theme park admission. We spent almost 2 hours in the line, but didn’t get to experience safari, they closed all rides instead due to the heavy rain and lightning. 🙁 🙁 🙁
The park looked almost empty on our way to the parking lot. Rain scared away most of the visitors. We bought an umbrella in one of the gift shops and rushed to our car. Even though we didn’t get to ride all the rides we wanted, we had a great experience in Six Flags! Some day we will come back.
