Dave and I finally got to see Niagara Falls, a well-known natural landmark, attracting hundreds and hundreds of tourists. Here is very short note about the Falls based on my quick research. Niagara Falls consists of three waterfalls: Horseshoe Falls (on the Canadian side), American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls (both on the American side).
The falls are located on the Niagara River between the twin cities of Niagara Falls, Ontario, and Niagara Falls, New York. We decided to stay on the Canadian side and hit the American side on the way home.
It was a spontaneous 3 day trip to Canada. The 1.5 hour flight from our favorite DCA airport to Buffalo, NY was short and pleasant. Rushing to the flight registration at the DCA airport.
Landing in Buffalo, NY. This city still had a lot of greenery on October 31st.
The first thing we did after arriving in Buffalo – rented already reserved car. There were no lines, so we were on our way to the Canadian border in no time.
Driving through Buffalo, NY.
In about 40 minutes we arrived at the Canadian border check point. Quickly, without any problem we crossed the boarder via one of the bridges and continued driving to our hotel.
In Canada we stayed in the Embassy Suites hotel on the 27th floor. Although the hotel could be more upgraded for the price, the view was incredible.
Hotel’s lobby.
We never got tired of looking at this beauty the whole time we stayed there.
As I mentioned earlier, the room was not as good or modern compared to other Hiltons in the same price range. We booked a fallsview Presidential Junior Suite, which was very clean and nice in general (the room, Jacuzzi and appliances), but the carpet and furniture could be newer. Although it didn’t bother us – the view made up for that. 🙂
A complementary daily “Manager’s Reception” was a nice touch with 2 free drinks and buffet style snacks (veggies and dip, chips. pretzels, and nachos with salsa among other items). It is supposed to promote customer interaction. We also received a $200 dinner voucher for Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse restaurant and a free full breakfast buffet. I have to mention that their breakfast was very good.
Right downstairs, there is the new Falls Incline Railway that takes visitors to the Table Rock Welcome Center. We decided to explore it before the dark.

It was a quick few minutes ride.

It started raining hard and was really breezy. The wind and rain made us wet quickly, sow we didn’t spend much time there.
Instead, we returned to our cozy warm room and enjoyed the view of the Falls from there. I was fascinated by a huge spout of steam coming up from Horseshoe Falls.
It was October 31st – Halloween! At first, we planned to visit the Halloween party at one of the local restaurants, but we changed our minds because of the cold rainy weather. We did wear our pirate costumes for dinner. 🙂
We went to TonyRoma’s restaurant nearby. Dinner was absolutely delicious.
Returning back to the room, we enjoyed beautiful Falls illumination, which takes place every night.

American Falls and Bridal Vail Falls, which is on the very right of the picture (yellow).
And we watched the Fireworks from our room’s panoramic windows in front of the fireplace, Having a wonderful time and enjoying a great evening.
