Carnival Cruise Line offers the popular Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast inspired by the children’s author Dr. Seuss tale of the same name.
Do you like green eggs and ham?
I do not like them, Sam-I-am.
Would you like them in a house?
Would you like them with a mouse?
…
Would you, could you, on a boat?
As opposed to Sam-I-Am, who has been offered multiple places to try green eggs and ham, we had only one option: on the boat. We couldn’t miss this opportunity and enjoyed this delicious breakfast on the last Day at Sea of our cruise aboard Carnival Sensation.
The Cat in the Hat ice sculpture welcomed guests as they entered the restaurant.
It was hard to miss where the breakfast was located, with large signs placed outside of the Ecstasy restaurant. The breakfast costs $5 extra to attend and it has to be reserved.
Near the front door, a row of desserts called You Can Think About Yogurt Parfait Schlopp was displayed. The parfait was offered by the Cat in the Hat and it looked delicious. The Cat in the Hat sculptures in several different poses were positioned around the room.

The main dining room was transformed for the occasion, with blue tablecloths, red and white striped hat centerpieces at every table, and Seuss characters and decorations all around the area. I want to emphasize that Carnival did a fantastic job at adding excitement to the breakfast.
Here is the Dr. Seuss book character Sam-I-Am holding up a plate of green eggs and ham. The Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast menu was ornately decorated and full of a wide range of options.
More shots of us with The Cat in the Hat sculpture in the dining room.
The food was as colorful as the table decorations, with the key Carnival brand colors of red and blue used extensively. Dave ordered Fox in Sox Steak and Eggs from the Dr. Seuss menu. They were absolutely delicious.
Of course, the signature dish was Green Eggs and Ham, which consisted of two rounds of griddled ham topped with green-colored scrambled eggs. It was like the book came to life when that plate of Green Eggs and Ham arrived at our table. The eggs didn’t taste different with the green coloring, and the smiley faced macaroon was a nice touch.
We did try Dr. Seuss parfaits. They were quite tasty.
Additionally, we ordered the Truffula Tree Pancakes and the Funny Belgian Waffles dishes.
Truffula Tree Pancakes – a stack of colored pancakes served with maple syrup. The waffles were filled with red and blue creams and this was served with maple syrup and whipped cream.
The main Dr. Seuss characters such as: The Cat in the Hat, Sam-I-Am and the double act of Thing 1 and Thing 2, all made appearances at the breakfast. The characters walk around the tables, making themselves available for photos.

There was also a photo opportunity on one of the previous evenings, and a parade with the characters before that. At the breakfast, there were professional photographers, but guests could also take pictures with their own cameras.
The servers were dressed in Thing 1 and Thing 2 inspired t-shirts and put on blue wigs to perform a song mid-way through breakfast. Here, the wait staff performs a fun routine with fancy footwork and waving napkins for the diners, which was very cute. Overall, the Green Eggs and Ham breakfast was far more entertaining than we thought it would be.
One of the interesting activities that day was the ice carving demonstration on Lido deck. One of the crewman carved the ice sculpture in about 8 minutes. Amazing!
Originally, we planned to spend some time in the Jacuzzi on the Serenity adult only deck, but we had to cancel this plan due to rain.
While walking around the ship, we found the chess figures. They all were knocked down by the wind.
I think this Jacuzzi couldn’t fit anymore people.
The back of the ship was pretty empty because of the rainy weather.
We tried some featured drinks of the day.
We listened to some live music inside.
We came back to the cabin to change for dinner and found these cute towel creatures.
The three of us are at our last dinner on the cruise.
This picture was taken by the ship photographer during formal dinner. I really like this picture.
One more picture of me on our way to the show.
The show was lovely as always. Here are a few pictures from the show.
Next day, our ship docked at Port Canaveral. It was a cloudy rainy day. We spent all day at Kennedy Space Center, which is my next post.
