Located on the Strip, the Paris Las Vegas Hotel captures the ambiance of the City of Light, which owes this name due to its fame as a center of education and ideas during the Age of Enlightenment. The Paris Hotel rises 34 stories in a four-wing tower fashioned after the Hotel de Ville in Paris, France. A view of the Paris Hotel from the Bellagio Hotel and Casino.

The MGM Grand Las Vegas is one of the premiere hotels and casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. There is a wide range of things to do at the MGM Grand Hotel, from visiting the African Lion Exhibit to shows and fine dining. We visited this hotel because of the David Copperfield show. We came earlier to explore the hotel itself. Of course, the first thing we saw passing the hotel entrance was the impressive casino.
The Las Vegas Strip is where every visitor to Las Vegas wants to go. The strip is the nickname for the street named Las Vegas Boulevard. It is four and half miles long, and runs from Mandalay Bay and the posh Four Seasons on the south end to the towering Stratosphere at the north end. Dave and I already visited the Stratosphere tower here. Our next visit is the Shark Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay resort.
Being in Vegas, Dave and I decided to explore the natural beauty of the Grand Canyon from a helicopter. We chose Sunset Grand Celebration with Vegas Strip tour organized by Papillon Helicopters. This tour includes a flight over and stunning aerial views of Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and of course Grand Canyon – West Rim.
Additionally, the helicopter lands at the bottom of the canyon on a private plateau overlooking the Colorado River. There guests will enjoy a champagne picnic and refreshments while exploring the surrounding canyon area. The tour also includes aerial views of the Vegas Strip and complementary pickup and drop-off from Las Vegas hotels by limo.
We spent most of the first day of our Vegas trip at the Stratosphere Tower Hotel. Our day was planned as follows. Sky Jumps around 11 a.m., then up to the observation tower and the thrill rides there. After that, a little break in our hotel Aria, then back to the Top of the World restaurant for our Anniversary dinner.
Our 12th Anniversary on December 17, Dave and I decided to celebrate in fabulous Las Vegas. We had looked through the Vegas deals and promotions and chose a package on vegas.com, which included 4 nights in the hotel Aria, airfare from Washington, DC and a show by Cirque Du Soleil. All of it for $620 each. 🙂
