On our last day in Aruba we decided to visit our favorite beaches one more time. In the evening we were going to have dinner in one of the restaurants around the Palm Beach Plaza. This lonely palm tree below is from Bachelor’s Beach.
In the morning we went back to the Butterfly Farm to see the butterflies in action. We were told by our tour guide yesterday, that morning is the best time for watching butterflies, because they are the most active at this time of the day. It was true. Butterflies were flying everywhere. Besides, the Butterfly Farm is a very nice place, so we enjoyed spending some time here.
After the Butterfly Farm, we hopped in the car and drove to Baby Beach, since it is the farthest beach from our condo. We brought our snorkeling equipment and fish food that we bought at the De Palm Island gift shop recently. Here we just parked our car near the barrier, the best snorkeling place. Some people were snorkeling already.
The outer side of the barrier looked pretty rough. There was a warning sign not to go outside the reef.
Snorkeling was fantastic. Such a big difference when you can feed the fish. Here is a 2 -minute video of us snorkeling at Baby Beach.
After snorkeling we took a walk on the beach. What a beautiful place!
Immediately west of Baby Beach, there is a small beach – Rodger’s Beach. It is a surfer beach because the waves are constantly pounding the shore. There were some kite surfers on the beach.
From the other side of Baby Beach is Bachelor’s Beach. We stopped there on our way home. We didn’t swim there, but the beach looked very nice and quiet. On one side there were some boats.
But the rest of the beach was almost empty with amazing turquoise water.
There is a very small natural island close to the horizon.
Back to our condo for a break and lunch. This is my favorite silver leaf tree next to our temporary home.
In the afternoon we went to Arashi Beach for a swim. The beach today was a little bit more crowded than usual.
There were a lot of kite surfers, so we had a chance to watch them, while avoiding getting run down by them in the water.
It was time to leave the beach. We didn’t visit Eagle Beach this time, since we were there almost every day, some days more than once. 🙂 Probably, because Eagle Beach is located very close to us.
On our way home we stopped along the road to enjoy the view one more time. From here, we could see a part of Palm Beach and numerous kite surfers.
Passing Super Store supermarket. This building was not only our favorite store, but also our main landmark on the island. We could always to find our way from this point.
This evening we spent around Palm Beach Plaza. First, we visited the Mall. This place is huge. We were not interested in shopping, but we visited a few stores – didn’t see anything special there. The Mall is new and beautiful. It was nicely decorated for the Holidays.
Then, we walked through the very cute “Mini market & Gift Shops”. We did some shopping there.
Before dinner, we st0pped at the bar to watch the NY Giants game for a little bit.
Walking around the Palm Beach Plaza. We couldn’t resist to take some pictures next to our favorite places.
For dinner, we chose the open table restaurant Fishes & More. It was nice sitting outside, while enjoying the beautiful evening, delicious meal and watching people go by.
Our nice sever offered to take a picture of us.
They definitely can cook on the island.
The rest of the evening, we spent on our patio enjoying a gorgeous evening. We were packed and ready for tomorrow’s morning flight home. We had an unforgettable time on this beautiful island. Aruba, some day we will visit you again. 🙂
