This weekend we visited the Seven Oaks Lavender Farm in Catlett, VA. The farm was open to visitors for the last weekend, so the lavender blossoms were almost gone. We still had a good time spent outdoors and enjoyed a beautiful ride to the farm.
As soon as we bought the admission ticket, flower baskets were provided to us in case we would like to pick up some lavender flowers for only 15 cents each.
Besides the lavender flowers, there were other flowers and herbs available for cutting.
We decided not cut any flowers, but just to enjoy them while walking around the farm.
We fed the farm rabbits.
And purchased some lavender beauty products and some wildflower honey.
On our way back home, we stopped at The Knife, the Argentine-Style all you can eat steakhouse in Woodbridge, VA, which we were planning to visit for a while. This steakhouse offers buffet style service, but food was absolutely delicious and the selection was great.
We really enjoyed our food there, and I think we ate way too much. 🙂
Besides various desert selections available at the buffet, dinner includes a choice of desert from the menu. We definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant at least for a great gourmet dining experience.
The previous 4th of July weekend we spent at Virginia Beach, but the weekend before we enjoyed a sushi dinner at East Moon Asian Bistro and watched a movie afterwards at the movie theater next door.
This time we felt like popcorn at the movie. The Jungle Book was a nice and relaxing movie to watch.
During the other weekend, we had a little cookout on our driveway and had fun by doing so.
On my Birthday dinner at The Fishbone Grill restaurant, I had a cocktail in a glass made entirely of ice, which was quite enjoyable, mostly because of the ice glass. 🙂
Right before that, Dave and I were invited to a coworker’s beautiful Birthday Surprise party in Maryland. We had a lot of fun there.
Here we are at a fairly new neighborhood restaurant, Ledo Pizza. My favorite menu item there is the Pomodoro Bianco pizza with baby arugula.
We do enjoy eating out from time to time, as well as cooking our own food at home, like this delicious meal of fish, shrimp, asparagus and cauliflower “fried rice”. Soooo tasty! My husband is the best!
And we always having fun shopping for food. We especially like buying fresh local produce from our favorite store. The donut peaches there are the sweetest!
A visit to Wegmans feels like an adventure. The store is huge with the large organic produce section, a restaurant inside the store and such a food variety.
These smoothies from Robeks tested really good after our outdoor exercises.
Our plants on the balcony got much bigger and prettier.
And at the end, I would like to share a couple pictures of two beautiful sunrises that Dave and I got to enjoy while driving to work the other days.
